LAUNCH VW Brake Pad Change

Instructions for Brake Pad Change
Function Description
When the vehicle travels beyond a certain mileage, it is required to change the brake pad due to wear or aging, and the brake pad warning lamp will illuminate by this time. For safety, please change the brake pad in time.
Attention
1. Ensure the connected battery voltage is not under 12V.
2. The ignition switch is on and the engine is off.
3. Before the replacement, ensure the electric parking switch is OFF (To turn off the electric parking switch, you may need to press the brake pedal).
Instructions
1. Turn on the ignition, properly connect the LAUNCH X431 PRO connector and then select VW car model software.
2. Select [Special Function] -> [Brake Pad Change]. Read the prompts carefully and ensure all requirements are satisfied.
3. After clicking [OK], if select [03 Brake Electronics],
4. Read fault codes first to ensure there's no other related fault code in the brake system. Then select [Open rear brake callipers]. In about 15 seconds, when the brake callipers are opened, click [OK], then change the brake pad.
5. After changing the brake pad, select [Close rear brake callipers]. In about 15s, the brake callipers are closed. The warning lamps on the parking brake pressure switch and on the instrument panel may flash all the time. The flash shall stop after cycling the parking brake on and off again.
6. If select [53 Parking Brake], it processes [Auto Rear Brake Pads Replacement].
7. First read and clear fault codes to ensure there's no fault code. Now select [Open rear brake callipers], wait for about 30 seconds. When the brake callipers are opened, click [OK]. Then change the brake pad.
8. After changing the brake pad, select [Close rear brake callipers]. In about 30s, the brake callipers are closed. The warning lamps on the parking brake pressure switch and on the instrument panel may flash all the time. The flash shall stop after cycling the parking brake on and off again.
9. After the replacement, select [Clear fault codes] to clear related fault code. If no fault code displayed, it indicates the brake pad has been successfully changed.
