Function Introduction:
Guided functions have the powerful advantage of easy operation. Each guided function is a
complete function integrated by multiple basic functions, saving users from the tedious search for the channel number and login code of the corresponding function. Each function has the detailed operational help information and operating condition instructions. For vehicles of different models and configurations, specific operation guidelines are provided, offering hints for corresponding operations, such as, automatic login, matching, setting, coding and etc. With these guided functions, it is equivalent to having an expert who can provide ideas, help find maintenance manuals and test functions in the maintenance process of vehicles. At present, the comprehensive diagnostic products all over the world rarely support all guided functions for VW and AUDI.

Test Functions:
Replacement of electronic parking brake pads (replacement of handbrake pads) for Touareg
Background for Performing the Function:
1. This function ensures safe and effective maintenance of the electronic parking brake
system.
2. The main functions include placing the handbrake pads to the installation position,
checking the basic setting of the parking brake (checking the gap of handbrake pads), running-in and calibration of handbrake pads and etc.
The basic setting, running-in and calibration for the handbrake pads of Touareg cannot be
performed, if you use a device that does not support guided functions.
The operations can be executed if you use a device supporting guided functions. Please note that network connection is required by guided functions. Please download the sub-package for the corresponding model before proceeding.
Operation Instructions:
1. Turn on the ignition switch of the vehicle, connect the connector of Launch’s product, select the software (V28.55 or higher) for VW models. After entering, the following main menu shall be displayed. Select “Guided Functions”.
2. Select “7P- Touareg 2010>”.
3. Select the model as shows below and download the corresponding sub-package file:
4. After entering, it shows below, Select “System Selection”.
5. Select “53 Parking Brake”.
6. Select “53-Basic adjustment electro-mechanical parking brake”.
7. Check the item as prompted and click Complete/Continue after confirming that there is no problem.
8. Select Complete/Continue.
9. Ensure the voltage is stable and select Complete/Continue.
10. Choose according to the conditions and select YES here.

12. Turn off the ignition switch.
13. Keep ignition switch OFF and wait.
14. Turn on ignition switch
15. Please wait…
16. Select Complete/Continue after completing automatic coding.
17. Release electronic handbrake button as prompted and select Complete/Continue
18. Do not depress the brake as prompted and select Complete/Continue
19. Checking the brake pad clearance...Please wait!
20. Read the clearance. If the clearance is within the range, the function can be continued.
Otherwise, it is necessary to remove the rear wheels and repeatedly adjust the clearance to
make the clearance within the tolerance range. Then continue to execute the function by
clicking Complete/Continue
21. Turn off the ignition switch
22. Keep ignition switch OFF for several seconds
23. Start the engine and let it run at idle
24. Start to perform running-in function. Select Complete/Continue
25. Please do operate according to prompts! Select Complete/Continue
26. Bring the vehicle to a full stop
27. Operate according to prompts. Driving is required during the process.

28. Start the vehicle within the time countdown indicated by the interface, drive the vehicle and keep the speed at 10Km/h…
29. Drive away and select Complete/Continue

31. Bring the vehicle to a full stop. The running-in process requires repeated operations until it is successful. A complete process requires 8 correct running-ins.
